Love, NYC And What I Wore (Part I)

Hello darlings!

I'm back to reality after spending a fabulous weekend in NYC. The City is always so much fun, but this time around, the trip had some extra layers of emotion, as I reunited with my boyfriend, after my last trip to Germany in Easter.

I'm happy to share with you the highlights of the weekend through a series of posts, if you like to read. The title is a humble tribute to Ilene Beckerman's book 'Love, Loss And What I Wore', which was adapted to a screenplay by the Ephron's sisters -but just to manage your expectations, my wardrobe options are the least interesting part of the weekend by far!

Saturday, July 21, 2012 (morning/afternoon)

At 10 am, we headed to the Fashion District -just 3 blocks away from our hotel- to visit one of Michael's friends and client and his lovely family. Thomas and Daniella just had two lovely twins three weeks ago. It was really nice to spend quality time with this great couple, the adorable new born baby girls -so tiny, delicate and cute!- and the gorgeous and uber charismatic 16-month-old baby Sidney.

By 12.30 pm we were ready to start exploring the City on our own. We were determined to find out what the whole High Line buzz was all about. Let me tell you, what a great and fun way of walking across Midtown down to Meatpacking District: The concept itself along with the design and views make of the High Line one of the best promenades in NYC. Absolutely recommended!

For lunch (around 2pm) we decided to hit The Chelsea Market to get some delish sandwiches and eat them by the Seating Stairs -right in front a massive crystal panel structure that turned some Chelsea's streets into an improvised entertainment screen.

An hour later, we walked up to the Chelsea Piers (Pier 62, actually) for our highly anticipated sailing tour throughout the Hudson river. Beyond awesome! I first read about this on A Cup Of Jo, and both Michael and I got equally excited about the plan. The experience surpassed our high expectations. Judge by yourselves:

We got back to the harbour at 5.30pm, and headed back to the hotel to take a quick nap and get ready to our date night.

Oops...about what I wore: Tank top from Madewell, shorts and shades from Forever 21 (the cost-per-wear of both items don't even reach 2 cents!), bracelets from Honolulu Chinatown (a present from the Mister), Armani watch ('borrowed' from the Mister -or at least that's what he thinks) and bag purchased on an artesany store in Cangas de Onis, Spain (a present from my aunt).

Coming up next: Saturday night in NYC...
