Are Our Relationships With Others A Projection Of The Relationship We Have To Ourselves?

I've already mentioned how much I admire Gwyneth Paltrow. Her Goop.com has also been one of my biggest inspirations to get started with my blog. I look forward to receiving her insightful and revealing weekly e-newsletters.

This week, she tackles a quite interesting matter: 'Co-dependency on relationships.' I've been hearing a lot of the matter lately, and this book 'Conscious Loving' studies the 'co-dependency' from a relationship point of view.   Don't miss the interview with the brilliant minds behind the book.

The points that caught my attention mostly were the following: "the '500th run-through of the same argument' pattern"  and how we truly have to fall in love with ourselves to be ready to love others.

I gave it a lot of thinking. Eventually, are the relationships we have to others a projection of the relationship we have to ourselves? Do we tend to treat others the same way we treat ourselves? Can we actually find all the answers in us? I'll definitely try to ask myself those questions next time I have an argument with someone!

  1. what an interesting question. i do think there's truth to that...we also treat others the way we'd like to be treated. :)

  2. Yes! I think if you have a healthy relationship with yourself and take care of yourself well you will do the same with another person. xo style, she wrote
