On The Road Again: Gulf Of Mexico

Darlings! Thanksgiving is almost here. Time flies, doesn't it? I am more than ready to enjoy the five-day break (I have Wednesday off!). As a little preview of how my much anticipated long weekend is going to look like, I would like to share with you some pics of this past weekend if you'd like to see. Michael and I embarked on a little road trip through the Gulf Of Mexico -including Fort Myers Beach, Captiva & Sanibel and Naples.
It only takes a bit more than two hours to get to Fort Myers Beach from Miami.
Once we arrived at the hotel, we grabbed a quick bite at the hotel's tikki bar -great buffalo shrimps!-and relaxed at the beach.

Later that night, we had dinner at one of the most popular restaurants in the area Gulfshore Grill: a great spot to enjoy delish food (my salmon was exquisit!) while overseeing the beach.

The restaurant has direct access to the beach, so after dinner, we decided to hit the sand, and walk to the famous Pier.

After the lovely promenade, we headed back to the hotel, and at 10pm we were ready to call it a day!
The moment we discovered a ping-pong table by the hotel's pool, we knew we couldn't possibly leave on Sunday morning without playing a few sets. For the sake of the relationship, I let him win 3-1 ;) It was fun!
Later that day, Michael got a bit bummed out when we couldn't find parking at the Bowditch Point Park -seriously, the parking is so small! Unfortunately, we missed the attraction.
Then, we decided to drive down to Sanibel and Captiva. You won't believe what the most exciting part of the afternoon was! Does anybody know the name of that game? Really entertaining!

We finally decided to catch the sunset in Naples -or as I like to call it 'the Hamptons of the Gulf of Mexico.' Even though it was a bit cloudy, we still could take wonderful pics. It was a great wrap up of weekend getaway.

Thanks again to my favorite travel buddy in the world for the amazing company!
PS. Next stop...my beloved Keys! Can't wait!
