On Wednesday, November 20th, we spent the day at Addo Elephant Park, one of the nineteen National Parks existing in South Africa, ranking number three in size, after Kruger National Park and Kgalagadi Transfrrontier Park.
As it can be easily inferred by the name, Addo is notorious for the large amount of elephants living in there. We could spot over forty.

I got really impressed by their beauty and regal presence. To think that some of the most powerful leaders in the world have fun 'hunting' them makes me sick. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in!
Just ten minutes driving into the park, it must have been around 11:15 am, we got to see The King -only two meters away! Check out his breath-taking beauty:
The funny thing is that, when we were about to exit the park -around 5 pm- the lion was still in the same place.
Here you have some more pics of the beautiful elephants, if you'd like to see:
Here you have some more pictures of other animals we ran into:
Pretty amazing, right?
By lunch time, we'd seen the two out of the big five -lions, elephants, leopard, buffalo and rhino- It was time then to take a break and relax after all the excitement.
It took us another two hours to go back to the park's main entrance . It is part of the experience: You pretty much drive around the spectacular savannah through the trials, trying to spot the animals. And if you see a few cars stopped, that's a good sign! It means that there's some big animal action!
It was my first South African National Park experience, and hopefully won't be the last one!
Hope you like the pics. Thanks for reading!
