Back To Brussels!

We just returned from a lovely weekend in Brussels. We visited our friends, Detlef and Manuela, for the second time this year! Detlef and Michael go way back, from the school days. It's so nice that they have managed to keep their friendship throughout all these years! Manuela and I also hit it off from the beginning.  This time, we arrived at Brussels of Friday night, so that we had plenty of time to catch up and rest. I love the view from the guest room!

On Saturday afternoon, Manuela, Michael and I headed downtown to explore this vibrant city including historic monuments, museums and charming antiques markets.

In the meantime, Detlef took care of the grocery shopping for that night's barbecue. And speaking of...

Probably the most delicious barbecue I ever had!

Last time I promised Manuela to bring her my SATC books on our next trip to Brussels...

...which came pretty handy when the guys wanted to watch the game after dinner...

On Sunday, after our usual 3-hour brunch, the guys and I headed to a nearby vintage furniture store. Our friends purchased a few pieces there, and we were intrigued...Here you have my favorite items.

Before returning home, we drove by the Atomium, one of Brussels' most remarkable landmarks. Since we were running out of time, we decided not to visit any exhibition -so that we have an excuse to come back!

Brussels, once again, you've been good to us! Thanks to D&M for their warm hospitality, like always!

AND...you photograph so well, Elsa. For what it's worth, I think you absolutely can pull of an outfit post. You're not giving yourself nearly enough credit, girlfriend! You are naturally gorgeous:-)
