Hola amig@s! I'm finally posting pictures from our vacation in Asturias, where I'm originally from. It is always nice to spend time at home with my mother in Gijón. We also like to drive around the region and visit different towns and beaches. Asturias has SO much to offer -it is called 'paraíso natural' (natural paradise) for a reason. :)
One afternoon we visited La Providencia Park. It's only a 5-minute-drive away from our house. The views are pretty remarkable as you can see. Lucía could run around like crazy and we took lots of pictures.
During the weekend, we drove to Oviedo and met with Carla, one of my best friends who also happens to be Lucía's godmother. We had coffee at Hotel De La Reconquista, a city's landmark. The building dates back to 1752 and operated as hospice and children's home for over two centuries. Just for fun: The hotel was one of the locations featured on Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona
Later that day, we strolled around San Francisco park, a green oasis located right in the heart of Oviedo. Lucia made a new friend ;)
When in Asturias, we always like to spend one or two nights in San Juan de Parres, a really small village close to the mountains, where my grandfather from my late dad's side was born and raised. This time was no exception. We also visited Llanes, a lovely beach town. We had lunch at El Almacén (great option if you happen to be in the area).
After the fabulous lunch and a little walk around the small harbour, we drove to the famous Bufones de Pria. These are special rock formations across the magnificent coastline cliffs. We missed the geysers in full action. Anyway, the scenary is breathtaking. Judge by yourself.
Your little one is to die for. She has gotten so big. Love those family shots!
