On The Road Again...(Daytona Beach And St. Augustine)

Hi darlings!
Hope you all had a great weekend.
As I had anticipated, my parents and I embarked on a road trip throughout the East coast of Florida, from Miami to St. Augustine. The initial idea was to spend Friday and Saturday night in Daytona, however, and due to the heavy rain, we couldn't drive all the way up to our final destination and had to spend Friday night in Fort Pierce, FL -arriving to Daytona Beach on Saturday morning.
Despite this little unforeseen circumstance, we certainly could do all the stuff we had planned for the weekend. Here you have the highlights and pictures, if you'd like to watch!

The moment my father found out about the Daytona Speedway tours, he couldn't talk about anything else. It was so emotional for my mum and I to see this guy in his mid-sixties -who recovered form a heart trasplant over a year ago- getting so excited about the experience. He was constantly wishpering 'I can't believe I am here, at Daytona!' We also remembered when the whole family hit the movie theater to watch Days of Thunder, back in 1990 (I was 12 by then, and deeply in love with Mr. Cruise, ha!)

I was also looking forward to taking my parents to Saint Augustine, FL -credited as the oldest town in USA. What a charming little town full of history (and great restaurants and shopping...which don't hurt either!)

Back in Daytona, we loved our Sunday morning walk by the beach. That's the life!

Early morning walk in Daytona Beach
The Boardwalk is beautiful, relaxing and picturesque...The Rooftop at Joe's by the Pier is pretty awesome -only for the view! We became friends with our bartender Jackie, a gorgeous and uber friendly Ohio-native, who moved to Daytona Beach a few years ago.

How's that for a view?

By 1pm we were ready to hit the road back to Miami. It was a long trip, but certainly worth it!

Thanks for reading!
