Weekend Getaway: Brussels Celebration

Dear friends, hope you all had a great weekend. On this end, we headed back to Brussels to celebrate a huge landmark in our friends' lives: They finally closed the buy of a magnificent Art-Nouveau house from 1908, located in the heart of Brussels.

The Art-Nouveau movement was originated at the end of the XIX Century in many European countries, spanning a few decades until the 1920s. However, when it comes to Art-Nouveau architecture, Brussels still remains the most important reference, due to the huge number of buildings still existent, which certainly are a very important part of the city's identity. Think of approximately 180 square meters distributed across four 45-square-meters floors. That's how a typical Art-Nouveau house looks like.

Our friends made their dream of becoming owners of one of those precious gems come true last Friday. They do have ahead of them several months of hard work, as they are pretty much starting renovating from scratch. What an amazing adventure! The final product will be totally outstanding!

Cheers to them!

  2. Wow what a big, exciting project for them. And what a gorgeous destination for you guys! I would be volunteering my (thoroughly unskilled) renovation services just for the getaway fun!
