Asturias: San Juan de Parres- Covadonga -Lagos - Ribadesella

Last Wednesday, my parents, Michael and I embarked on two-day getaway to show Michael the mountains and the Eastern side of the region. We stationed in San Juan de Parres, a very tiny little town -where my late grand father was born. Casa Pedro is the best option for excellent meals and also spending a few nights. By the way, that house used to belong to my family. It was sold to Pedro and his family more than 10 years ago, and they have turned it into one of the landmarks of the rural tourism in Asturias. Good for them!

Asturias' promotional slogan is 'Asturias, Paraiso Natural', Spanish for 'Organic/Environmental Paradise.'  By the pics below I guess that you can easily imagine why!
